Esotika Erotika Psikotica – Italian Sexy Cinema Posters is a 205-page volume that, spanning thirty years of history from 1949 to 1979, collects and reproduces with philological rigor and impeccable quality a rich selection of film posters drawn from the authors’ private collections. It offers the reader a fascinating journey into the most flirtatious, forbidden—but never truly transgressive—side of Italian cinema: from the earliest, rare examples such as Totò di notte n.1 or Sexy Baby starring Brigitte Skay, through iconic titles like Last Tango in Paris with Marlon Brando, all the way to absolute genre classics such as Malizia by Samperi with Laura Antonelli—unsurprisingly chosen as the book’s ideal opening. All of this is orchestrated in a visual and cultural narrative that celebrates a seductive, popular, liberated, and sometimes startling imagination, decidedly “for many, but not for everyone.”

GRAFICA E PUBBLICITÀ MUSICALE IN ITALIA 1956-1965

    100 pages / 21x21cm

    Price: 20,00 €

Graphics and Music Advertising in Italy 1956–1965 is a compact and surprising 100-page journey, richly illustrated, through a decade in which the image of Italian music evolved from the earliest, timid advertisements of record labels—almost dry lists of titles and catalog numbers—to the visual explosion brought by the “Elvis boom,” marked by the triumph of the first RCA record and the emergence of an increasingly bold, colorful, and captivating graphic language. This journey shows how, riding the wave of rock’n’roll and new consumer trends, creativity began to run free across slogans, vibrant colors, and lively illustrations, accompanying the rise of publishing and record companies such as Carisch and Saar, the emerging stars of Italian song—Jannacci, Celentano, Gaber, and Tenco—and the media phenomena associated with Il Musichiere. The story continues with Ricordi, the Clan Celentano, Mina, the Beatles, as well as a host of “one-hit wonders” who, in the manner of Warhol, enjoyed their five minutes of fame, leaving behind visual traces that today are both precious and extremely rare.

    MUSICA, POLITICA E CANDELOTTI 1970-1977

    324 pages / 21x21cm

    Price: 35,00 €

The second volume of a work exploring the deep interconnection between music, politics, society, and culture in Italy during the decade 1968–1977. This second chapter, focused on the years 1970–1977, reconstructs with historiographical rigor and striking visual power a period of extraordinary ferment, in which music became a vehicle for protest, collective dreams, and ideological confrontation.

Through a rich array of period materials—records, flyers, posters, magazines, and rare documents—the book traces the birth of the first protest 45s released by the label I Dischi del Sole, true “musical leaflets” accompanying the revolutionary awakening of the masses, inspired by the clashes in Paris and the first stirrings in Italian universities. Student and labor struggles are documented through election posters, photographs, texts, and newspaper excerpts, revealing the growth of a new collective consciousness.

Musica, Politica e Candelotti is therefore a work that weaves historical research with visual culture, vividly and thoroughly conveying the atmosphere of a two-year period in which music and politics fused into a single, explosive soundtrack of change. A reference work, notable both for its archival richness and its ability to capture the restless and revolutionary spirit of an era that left an indelible mark on Italian history.
